Photography Project Process
This gives you a basic idea of how we can work together.
1. Initial Consultation
We begin with a conversation about your brand, menu, products, visual goals, and intended usage across web, print, or social platforms.
2. Creative Direction
Together, we establish the visual tone of the project — including lighting, mood, styling references, composition, color palette, and overall atmosphere.
3. Planning & Shot List
A detailed shooting plan is prepared to ensure efficiency and consistency throughout the session. This may include dish sequencing, styling notes, prop selection, and layout planning.
4. Production & Styling
Dishes and products are carefully prepared and styled for camera. Attention is given to texture, color balance, plating, and lighting to create clean and compelling imagery.
5. Photography Session
Images are captured with a focus on consistency, detail, and brand identity — whether for menus, editorial campaigns, product launches, or social content.
6. Image Selection & Retouching
Final images are refined through professional editing and color correction while maintaining a natural and polished appearance.
7. Delivery
High-resolution files are delivered in formats optimized for print, web, and social media usage.
Frequently Asked Question
Do you offer styling service?
I will work with you to determine the direction of your campaign prior to the photoshoot and a message you want to convey to your audience while I do not provide a dedicated styling service. However I will closely work with a chef or stylist to make a seamless result.
How much does your service cost?
Basic restaurant menu photography starts at $450 for a two-hour session.
Within that time, multiple dishes can be photographed efficiently depending on the level of styling and setup required.
For branding, product photography, lifestyle imagery, and custom productions, pricing is provided on a project basis according to the scope and creative needs of each client.
What is your AI policy?
AI has become an important part of modern visual production, offering new creative possibilities while reducing certain physical limitations, production costs, and turnaround time.
At Miow Studio, AI is used as a supportive creative tool — not as a replacement for thoughtful photography, lighting, styling, and visual direction.
We believe the level of AI enhancement should align carefully with each brand’s identity and audience perception. While highly perfected imagery may appear visually striking, excessive artificial refinement can sometimes reduce the sense of authenticity, warmth, and trust within a brand.
For this reason, we approach AI selectively and intentionally, balancing refinement with realism.
For clients who prefer a more authentic and natural photographic style, we are also fully able to work without AI-assisted enhancements and maintain a traditional photography-focused workflow.
High-resolution photography remains an essential foundation of the production process. Professional-quality source images are important not only for print, websites, and digital signage, but also for maintaining image integrity in future creative applications, including AI-assisted visual development.
Our goal is to create imagery that feels visually elevated while still preserving texture, atmosphere, and a natural sense of presence.
Do you offer a customized service ?
Yes. Every project is approached individually, and services can be customized based on your brand, workflow, and creative needs — including both onsite in-person studio production and remote production services for clients working from a distance.
What is Remote Creative Production?
This is a flexible photography production service designed for chefs, restaurants, and brands working remotely.
Based on your recipes, plating direction, and visual references, our team recreates and prepares dishes in-studio, then photographs them according to your brand’s style and creative goals.
This service is ideal for:
- restaurants located outside New York Tri-State area.
- overseas clients
- brands needing ongoing visual content
- chefs with limited time for in-person shoots
From ingredient preparation and styling to lighting and final imagery, the process is carefully coordinated to maintain consistency with your culinary identity and brand atmosphere.
